About Department

  • The Commerce Department began in a small way with a single division of 90 students in 1982. Over 35 years, it has grown in multiple dimensions and the strength of students at present is more than 1600.

  • The Commerce Department provides continuous guidance to the students in developing creative and analytical skills. In furtherance of that objective, it conducts various seminars, programs, competitions,  events exhibitions, and rallies related to environmental issues, social issues, and so on.

  • It offers various optional subjects like Advertising, Export marketing, Marketing research. These are career-oriented subjects and are very popular. Department takes special efforts to make these subjects simple and illustrative.

  • It offers compulsory subjects like Introduction to business- service sector, Principles of management, Production, and Finance, Marketing and Human resource management which are studied by over 85000 students every year in Mumbai. Department takes special efforts to link these subjects with current global trends and students are taken for Industrial Visits to establish these linkages.

  • The participatory interactive culture of the department is maintained, deliberate efforts are taken to encourage students' active involvement in the classrooms through various teaching-learning techniques.

  • The largest department of the college with maximum student strength.

  • The results of the department are quite satisfactory. The average result is about 80%. With our expert guidance to underprivileged students, who excelled in performance without going to coaching classes.

  • More than 60% of our students go to higher education and have gained a prestigious position in Indian and global industries

  • Teachers - students relationships are quite satisfactory. Efforts are made to extend mental, moral, and other required support to our students.

  • Students are given regular guidance to prepare Curriculum Vitae (C.V.), to prepare for interviews and assistance for placements in Corporates, which have been offering jobs/training in the fields of IT, Finance, Marketing, Advertising, KPO, Travel and Tourism and so on.
