Examination Pattern (Senior College)
Scheme of Examinations in Autonomous College
Total credits to be earned by student to achieve under Graduate degree are 132 for Science and Commerce and 134 for Arts.
Total credits to be earned by student for post graduate degree is 104.
- The First Year, Second Year and Third Year Examinations in Arts, Science and Commerce will be conducted by Sathaye College (Autonomous)
- The details regarding the examinations conducted by the college will be displayed on the notice-boards from time to time and website.
- Promotion to the Second Year and Third Year classes will be on the basis of the performance at the First Year and Second Year examinations respectively, as per Sathaye College (Autonomous) Examination Policy adopted on 22nd December 2022.
- Credit Based Evaluation System:
4(a) Scheme of Examinations (For F.Y., S.Y., T.Y. and P.G.)
The performance of the learners will be evaluated in two components.
(1) First component will be the Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) carrying 40 marks conducted by the Head of the department.
(2) Second component will be the semester-wise Semester End Examination (SEE) carrying 60 marks conducted by the Controller of Examinations.
The semester-wise Credit Points vary from program to program. The total credits to be earned by student to achieve Under Graduate Program Degree and Post Graduate Program

Credit-Based Evaluation System :
The scheme of examination performance of the learners will be evaluated in two components. One component will be Internal assessment component carrying 40% marks and the second component will be the Semester-wise End Examination component carrying 60% marks. The allocation of marks for the Internal Assessment and Semester End Examinations will be as shown below :Internal Assessment - 40%
For Courses without PracticalFor Courses without Practical
Semester End Examination - 60 %- Duration - These Examinations shall be of 2 and 1/2 Hours duration.
- All questions shall be compulsory with internal choice within the questions.
- Questions may be subdivided into sub-question a, b, c....and the allocation of marks depends on the weightage of the topic.
- Passing Standard
The learners to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination. -
4(b) For practical courses
Continuous internal assessment shall not be applicable for practical courses. Semester End practical Examination for each practical course is conducted at the end of semester as per the direction given in the syllabus of the respective Board of Studies.

- STANDARD OF PASSING :
The standard of passing, rules of disqualification, rules of gracing and benefit of A.T.K.T.
will be as prescribed by the Examination Policy of Sathaye College (Autonomous). Passing Standard: To pass the course, learners shall have to obtain minimum 40% in internal and external examinations separately for each course. For Science stream, theory examination & practical examination shall remain separate heads of passing.
- Eligibility for Admission to all the Under Graduate Programs (aided and non-aided) in the Faculties of Arts and Commerce under Credit Based Semester and Grading System :
Allowed to Keep Terms (ATKT) rule
(A) A student shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of number of heads of failure in the Semester I.
(B) A student shall be allowed to keep term for Semester-III if
1) He/she passes each semester-I and semester-II
2) He/she fails in not more than two courses in each semester-I an d II where the maximum total marks for semester is 900 or less.
3) He/she fails in not more than three courses in each semester-I and II where the maximum total marks for semester is above 900.
(C) A student shall be allowed to keep term for Semester-IV irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester-III.
(D) A student shall be allowed to keep term for Semester- IV
1) He/she passes each semester-I, II, III and IV.
2) He/she passes semester-I and II and fails in not more than two courses in each semester-III and IV where the maximum total marks for semester is 900 or less.
3) He/she passes semester-I and II and fails in not more than three courses in each semester-III and IV where the maximum total marks for semester is above 900.
4) He/she passes semester-III and IV and fails in not more than two courses in each semester-I and II where the maximum total marks for semester is 900 or less.
5) He/she passes semester-III and IV and fails in not more than three courses in each semester-I and II where the maimum total marks for semester is above 900.
(E) A student shall be allowed to keep term for Semester-VI irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester-V.
